The Dehone method is a highly arbitrary range of acting rehearsal techniques and an extraordinarily inconsistent blend of physical and emotional training that seek to enhance the ability to express a wide variety of mental states, gestures and facial expressions without any effort or concentration whatsoever. Some aspects of the Dehone method aspire to produce a type of performing that is deprived of all meaning and sense. The main focus of the D-met, as it is sometimes called by those in the know, is to ignore all psychological, sociological and behavioural approaches to acting, to let go of any inhibitions an actor might have, and to quit striving for any preconceived goals.

In practice, the Dehone method is a collection of semi-random titbits, some out-of- context physical movements and obscure aphorisms that aim to confuse the actor enough to eventually ignore all directions and just be in the here and now. The Dehone method is not to be taken literally, seriously or in any way as an example of acting as a skill. The Dehone method was developed by Mr. Janusz Dehone who, for the record, takes no responsibility for the application of his teachings.
